Graduation ceremonies set for May 16

It’s that time again. Our sophomore students are making preparations and putting forth the effort to finish the semester strong, so they can walk across that stage.

The 2014 graduation ceremony will be held on Friday, May 16, in the Howard Coliseum on the Senatobia campus.

Students were given their caps and gowns during graduation rehearsal.

The Associate of Applied Science rehearsal took place on Monday, May 5, Career Certificate rehearsal, May 6, and Associate of Arts rehearsal was held on May 7, in the Coliseum.

“I’m a mother of two, and I also work a full-time job, so for me to finally walk across that stage after working my tail off, is such a good feeling. If I could do it, anyone can do it,” Tyronica Webb, a sophomore healthcare data technology major, said.

State Senator and Northwest alumnus, Steve Hale, will be speaking to students during all three graduation ceremonies, according to Northwest President, Dr. Gary Lee Spears.

The Associate of Applied Sciences ceremony will be held at 8:30 a.m. The Career Certificate ceremony will be held at 11 a.m., and the Associate of Arts ceremony will be held at 2 p.m.

Clearance will be May  7-9, starting at 8:30-11:45 a.m. and 1-3:15 p.m. in the Administration Building.

If any student has fines of any sort, they have to be paid before receiving a clearance slip for finals.  If a student does not have a clearance slip, the instructors will not allow them to take their exams.

Students are asked to use the back entrance and go up the stairs of the Administration Building, where they can receive their clearance slips in the cashier room. Student I.D.s are required.
