The Northwest Lady Rangers soccer team will be hosting a raffle to win a Northwest corn hole board. The winner will be announced on Oct. 7 at halftime of the Itawamba game.
“Raffling the corn hole off at a big north division game might encourage people to come out to the game,” Levi Nunnally, the head women’s soccer coach, said.
Any student or faculty participating does not have to be present to win the raffle.
To participate, students and faculty are required to purchase a $5 ticket and write their name and phone number on the back of the ticket. The ticket will then be inserted into a drawing bucket.
“I feel great about the fundraiser; I think it’s a little different.” Nunnally said. “I would actually like to take the boards home with me; they turned out really nice.”
Tickets are available for purchase from any member of the women’s soccer team. According to Nunnally, the Lady Rangers Soccer team’s goal is to reach $500, and the money raised will go towards purchasing a video camera that will allow the team to record games and watch film.
“Our team is working really hard to further ourselves in the district, and we need all the support we can get. The raffle is a great way to get the word out about the team, and it also raises money for us so that we can enjoy our time here with less expenses,” Ashley Nelson, a freshman general college major from Horn Lake, said.
