Baseball teams signs 9 commits

Just before the 2015 season begins for the 20th ranked Rangers, the recruiting end of the program was rewarded. The Rangers picked up eight Mississippi residents and one out-of-state player for the 2016 season on Jan. 16.

Signees included Jarod Wright, outfielder from Arlington High School in Tennessee; Chance Cotton, infielder and pitcher from Germantown High School; Connor McGraw, right-handed pitcher and outfielder from Germantown High School; Dalton Minton, left-handed pitcher from Horn Lake High School; Hunter Bishop, outfielder from Lafayette High School; Jake McPhail, catcher from Lafayette High School; David Herrington, outfielder from Magnolia Heights School; Jack McClure, catcher and first baseman from Oxford High School and Peyton Plumlee, right-handed pitcher from Lewisburg High School.

The 2015 season starts for the nationally ranked Rangers on Feb. 9 on the road at Southwest Tennesee. They will host Arkansas Baptist on Feb. 11 for a double header. First pitches for the home opener are scheduled for 2 and 5 p.m.
