Your student ID can save you money

Most students believe that a student I.D. card is only used for identification or as the school credit card, but there are many more opportunities for students to take advantage.

Restaurants such as El Charro, Rio Lindo and Coleman’s BBQ give a 10 percent discount on any meal. Subway, Burger King, McDonalds, Arbys, Dairy Queen and Buffalo Wild Wings gives up to 10 percent off the total purchase. Qdoba offers a $5 student burrito meal and when shown a student I.D., you will get a free drink. Chipotle and Chick-fil-A offers a free drink.

“We offer up 10 percent off for any meal, and also have coupons on the back of our receipts for a buy one get one free six inch,”  Kelsey, a shift supervisor at Subway, said.

Apple stores offer education pricing for students, with up to $200 off a new MacBook Pro. By typing into the URL, an education link at the bottom of the screen will appear. After the student clicks the link, he/she will then choose the school they are attending or will attend. Then begin shopping.

Wordsru gives a 10 percent discount on each editing job and proofreading online. Sony gives a 10 percent discount on sale items. You must have your student I.D. to get these discounts, and they are offered online and in stores.

Kroger gives 10 percent off any food items. Jiffy Lube gives you $10 off every purchase. Students can get special pricing at 24 Hour Fitness and Corepower Yoga, if you sign up with your student I.D. card. Visit AMC Theaters any time on Thursdays and get a cheaper admission with your student I.D. card. The Tobie Cinema offers $5 admission tickets. The student must have a valid ID.

For any sporting or fine arts event held at Northwest, a Northwest student I.D. can be used for a free admission.
